culinary adventures with a little Southern flair
The red beans and rice were excellent! I prepped the ingredients on Sunday and put everything in the slow cooker. When I walked in the house the aroma was both comforting and sparked my appetite. Next time I will use a bit less liquid; I was concerned about it getting too dry during the day. Even without meat, it was very filling. I will also use a bit of smoked paprika in the future, to add that hint of smokiness. Thanks again!
I've never made it, but Gumbo Z'herbes is probably your best starting point for a vegetarian gumbo.
