Only one week left until Thanksgiving dinner

After several rounds of discussion, this is the menu that I have proposed to VA we make for Thanksgiving dinner:

Caramelized Onion and Gruyere Tart
Green Apple and Celery Salad with Walnuts & Mustard Vinaigrette
Roast Turkey and Gravy
Cornbread Dressing
Wild Rice with Chestnuts and Dried Cranberries
Haricort Verts with Warm Bacon Vinaigrette
Cranberry, Tangerine and Crystallized-Ginger Relish
Sweet-Potato Puree with Smoked Paprika
Smoked Gouda Macaroni and Cheese
Rolls
Gingered Pumpkin Pie
Chocolate Coconut Pecan Tart

Now we just need to find a small army to help the six of us eat it!

There are a couple of new recipes mixed in with some old and newer favorites. The wild rice dish, the green beans and the sweet potato puree are all new. Some might try out the recipes before the big day, but I never even consider doing that. The good thing about having such a big menu is that if something doesn’t turn out well, you still have lots of other dishes to eat.

I've picked up a couple of bottles of French cider to have with the first course, but we need to figure out what wine we want to have with the main course.

Coming up: how are we going to brine and roast the turkey?

Man - I'm jealous. My husband's family is very unadventuresome. Cranberry sauce made from real berries is barely acceptable, and no one will touch a minced-meat pie accept my husband, MIL, and me.

I'd be happy to come and help eat!

I would so love to have enthusiastic dinners as my guests! I have no idea how much of this my kids will eat, except for the turkey,smoked gouda mac & cheese and dessert. They eat cornbread and roasted or baked sweet potatoes so I am hoping they will grow into the dressing and the savory sweet potato dish my sister prefers. We'll see.
